Screening Black Book (Zwartboek) by Paul Verhoeven

4 March 2007

On Sunday March 4, 2007 some 100 people joined us at the Melnitzhall theatre on the UCLA campus for an exclusive preview screening of Paul Verhoeven's film Black Book (Zwartboek) followed by a reception with light refreshments.

Zwartboek is considered a landmark in Dutch Film! The critically acclaimed Dutch language thriller took us back to The Hague in the Netherlands during the last year of the German occupation. The film just missed an Oscar nomination, but many of the people attending felt it should have received one.

We were proud to be in a position to have this pre-screening and are thankful to Sony Pictures Classics to make it available to us.

Paul is a 2001 Dutch American Heritage Award recipient and it was great for us to honor him again in this way.
