NAF Biz Event: "Film and Advertising Industry"

The Netherland-America Foundation, Southern California Chapter is pleased to invite you to the following networking event:

SPEAKERS

• Dickey Beer is an established and well known Dutch stunt coordinator, also a Second Unit Director/Assistant Director, Actor and Producer. Dickey has a wealth of behind-the-scenes stories, including the many roles he performed in Return of the Jedi. On the skiff in the Sarlacc pit scene he performed stunts for both the Boba Fett and Luke Skywalker characters, essentially fighting himself in one scene. Dickey’s busy career in stunts, stunt coordination and production includes roles in Terminator 3, Hancock and Pineapple Express. Dickey will do  a short presentation about his challenging profession and his experience in the film industry. For more information on his work, please click here

• Maarten Zundermann has a B.A in advertising and philosophy as well as Master’s Degree from The Film Academy in NYC/LA. As a young Dutch entrepreneur in the advertising and film industry, Maarten will talk about American film industry, advertising, its future and business opportunities. He will also briefly present a discussion about talent agencies in Los Angeles. Currently Maarten is an Associate Producer at Bully Pictures (Advertising Production Office) and assistant of Roman Coppola.

• Marieke Oudejans is an independent film/tv producer, a freelance journalist and entertainment consultant. Currently Marieke is the advisor and LA contact for the Holland Hollywood Connection, as well as US representative for the Dutch Media Hub. Marieke is a graduate of the UCLA MFA Producers Program and of the University of Amsterdam (MA Political Science/International Relations). She will present a brief overview of The Holland Hollywood Connection (HHC), the official network for Dutch professionals working with or within the Hollywood entertainment industry.
