NAF-BIZ Networking Event, June 4, 2009

October 1, 2009

The NAF-BIZ division had a very successful summer event in June at the Beverly Hills Country Club, featuring two interesting speakers.

International Trade Director Peter Laanen from the Netherlands Business Support Office in San Mateo highlighted many pitfalls the Dutch abroad encounter when trying to setup their businesses in the United States. In a humorous yet clear manner Peter pointed out the differences between the two business cultures.

Working for the Dutch consultant group Rayhas Investments on the “Leonidas Café Concept”, Neil Jansson elaborated about preparing the American Market for the one stop Chocolate-Beverage shops. Together with Leonidas he is promoting the Belgian chocolate in its different varieties to the American consumer, using the Café Concept.

Afterwards a great networking mixer provided the chance to further mingle with the speakers, and exchange business information to broaden our network and increase our success. A special thanks to Valerie Thomas from Winchester Cheese Company who supported us with delicious Mild Gouda and Cumin Gouda Cheese. (www.winchestercheese.com).
